I used to be a big proponent of playing games on a console and I still am a purist when it comes to high quality gaming. But after understanding that games have gone casual and the barrier of entry into console gaming might be high for some, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is an extremely compelling solution.
Low commitment, no hardware requirements, can play on mobile and on a compatible TV with the Game Pass app, no need to get a PC, a huge library of games available for consumption with the Game Pass Ultimate subscription are just some of the pros.
From the cons, I would just mention the latency and the video compression artifacts. But what do you expect? The latency is superb and the compression artifacts either aren’t visible or become completely secondary once you’re in the game and enjoying it.
Well done Microsoft! The people who created and who maintain this service are absolute wizards.
