[ASSASSINS CREED NEXUS Review // The Best VR Game of 2023? (Quest 3 Gameplay)
Assassins Creed Nexus is the exact game that Meta needed right now to showcase just how awesome the Quest 3 can be, it’s a killer app for the Quest platform of headsets and honestly one of the best VR games of 2023! I was a little worried before launch about what corners Ubisoft would have to cut to create a proper VR Assassins Creed game but it turns out they really didn’t have to cut many at all; Assassins Creed Nexus is a full fledged Creed adventure that runs around 15-20hrs in length and takes players to three distinct locations with three iconic assassins to embody. Ezio in 15th century renaissance Italy, Kassandra in Ancient Greece and Connor in 18th century colonial America, each have their own tools and playstyles and the environments themselves are amongst some of the very best VR worlds I’ve had the pleasure of exploring. Everything you love about flat screen Assassins Creed games translates beautifully to this new VR adventure; stealth elements, the leap of faith, using the hidden blade, climbing EVERYTHING, parkour and a wonky story about Templars trying to get their hands on some magical relic… it’s all here and it all works amazingly well in virtual reality.
