In this video, I share my personal story of why I left console gaming and switched over to PC gaming. This is not a console hate or bashing video. I was a die hard console fan boy for many years. More specifically, I was a die hard Xbox fan. But I was told so many times over the years that PC was the superior platform. I was stubborn and did not want to even consider PC gaming. However, the Xbox One continued to let me down. First, it was a lack of power and then it was a lack of games. The PlayStation 4 broke sales records. The PS4 had a ton of award winning and critically acclaimed exclusives such as God of War, Spider-Man, The Last of Us, Days Gone, and Horizon Zero Dawn.
PC had better hardware. This meant higher framerates (fps), better graphics, higher resolution, mod support, and in many cases cheaper games.
Then Xbox made the announcement at E3 2019 that all first party Xbox titles would be available on the PC day one. Game Pass was coming to PC and would be called PC Game Pass.
Then Xbox confirmed that these same games would now also be available on Steam. Xbox officially would never have a true exclusive.
Then PlayStation started releasing exclusives on Steam as well. As of now, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Death stranding, and Detroit Become Human are all on PC. And coming up, Ghostwire Tokyo will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PC. Xbox will not have this game.
PC truly has the least limitations. And exclusives are now becoming less and less of an issue. I truly think console was better than PC at one point. But in 2021 and beyond, PC is truly the best gaming platform.
