What If Darth Maul Had Killed Palpatine During The Clone Wars?
It is often underappreciated how powerful was during his short rule of Mandalore. Although outmatched in a duel, Maul could have drawn upon the power of the nightsisters or the reinforcement of mandalorians, a plan that very well could have allowed Maul to defeat Palpatine. With Palpatine dead, Dooku would soon meet the same fate, with Mother Talzin possessing his body to regain her strength, just as she attempted in legends. Using the full might of the hutt space, the nightsisters, the mandalorians and the shadow crime syndicate, it wouldnt take long for Maul to convince the cowardly separatist council to make him their new leader. The Republic, leaderless and now facing a far more powerful CIS would likely sue for peace, leaving Maul and his mother in control of a vast part of the galaxy.
